What is an Endowment Fund?

Endowment Fund (eng. Endowment - contribution) is a trust fund designed to provide stable funding for the activities of non-profit organizations such as the Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools and the Alumni Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools Association. Capital is formed through voluntary donations from interested parties. The funds raised are invested (for example, securities, real estate are purchased or put into a deposit account). Only the interest received from investing is spent on the needs of the organization.
